BIOGRAPHY
Hailing from the South Bend Indiana area, DJ Sticky Boots has been spinning in one form or another since the age of 13. He started on the road at the tender age of six attending various mobile DJ events as a roadie in the family business, and is now President of the DJ entertainment company his father founded in 1978 called The Music Place. After honing his programming skills over the years at countless school dances, teen events and college parties and being inspired by DJs such as Julian “Jumpin’” Perez, Bad Boy Bill, and Bobby D on Chicago radio, Sticky Boots taught himself to mix and began digging deeper into dance music in the 90's. Now with a strong foundation and following, Sticky Boots performs over a 100 times a year, spinning a mainstream mix of commercial dance and hip-hop. As his career progresses, Sticky continues to branch into new facets of DJ’ing and acquire new experiences and accomplishments. On a nationwide front, Sticky has his own featured spot as a mixer on Sirius Satellite Radio's Channel 36 - The Beat, is in daily rotation on AOL Radio's DJ Set Channel, and is available via cell phone download on both the Sprint/Nextel and US Cellular networks and on Nokia Wireless phones worldwide. His syndicated show, The HyperMiXx, also airs on nearly 20 stations from New York to Hawaii to the Carribean. Sticky is also now on-demand on several cellular networks, allowing fans to stream his show directly to their cell phone anytime the desire hits them. He is a mix show reporter to several trade publications, as well as to hundreds of record labels and independent promoters. Sticky was a featured mixer in the June/July and Aug./Sept. 2002 issues of DMA (Dance Music Authority) in its “Meet the Mixers” column and a guest panelist at the DJ Times International DJ Expo in Atlantic City, NJ. Other accolades include gracing the August 2005 cover of Mobile Beat Magazine, receiving a feature article in DJ Times Magazine in May 2008, and being named the #1 reporting DJ in the USA according to the Deet Promotion's Mix Show rankings in New York City. Finally as further validation of his impact and influence, Sticky Boots was recently chosen one of “America’s Best DJ’s” through nationwide voting conducted by DJ Times Magazine, thereby solidifying his role as industry tastemaker and fan favorite. In addition to all the radio shows, Sticky Boots maintains a busy production and touring schedule, working clubs, school and college events, and private promotions from coast to coast. Sticky Boots’ other interests include traveling to see exotic places, beaches and palm trees, studying art and photography, working with cheerleading squads and dance choreographers, spinning corporate events for brands such as Express, Budweiser, Bacardi, and Mike's Hard Lemonade, and actively seeking out new stations and markets for his syndicated mix show.
